The Executive Office implements a follow-up meeting on the issues of women prisoners and juveniles in the Central Prison

The Yemeni Women's Union - the Executive Office in Sana'a - carried out the first meeting of the Committee for the Follow-up of Cases of Prisoners and Juveniles in the framework of the legal support project for women prisoners and juveniles with the support of the Criminal Reform Organization.
At the meeting, Ms. Wafa Ahmed Ali, member of the Executive Office of the Yemeni Women's Union delivered a speech welcoming the participants to the meeting, pointing to the importance of this meeting, which comes within the framework of the project to protect women prisoners.
In her speech, she stressed the importance of developing a mechanism to deal with cases promptly and to make judgments to facilitate the assistance of women and juveniles.
For her part, Professor Najla al-Lassani, Director of the Legal Department, explained what was achieved through the field demarcation of the legal team and also the training course held for female prisoners, where there are women prisoners who are not required to be referred to the court or the prosecution for more than six months and more. in prison.
For his part, the Director General of Reform and Rehabilitation, Colonel Abdullah Al-Hakim, stressed the importance of the meeting to discuss the issues and needs of women prisoners and events in Yemen and provide them with legal support and help in their speedy release from places of detention.
The meeting discussed several topics, including the follow-up committee, coordination mechanism, discussion of the mechanism of intervention in cases of prisoners and juveniles, and the identification of issues to be followed up by the committee.
The meeting came out with a list of names of women prisoners and juveniles, and the follow-up of cases and release proceedings.
The meeting was attended by Professor Bilqis Al-Rabahi, member of the Executive Office, a number of members of the judiciary and members of the Attorney General's Office, the Public Prosecution, the Juvenile Prosecution and the Prison Service.
