Yemen Women Union in Aden concludes 16-day anti-gender based violence activities -My safety our future
Yemen Women Union / Aden organized in cooperation with the United Nations Women's Fund the concluding event on the occasion of the closing of a 16-day campaign against gender-based violence to advocate women's rights and rights to stop violence in various forms.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Fatima Maresi, Chairwomen of Yemen Women Union in Aden, started her welcoming speech by thanking all the organizations, parties and coalitions of women in Aden, who celebrated this occasion with many activities and events within 16 days of the campaign.
She stressed that the arrival of this occasion comes at a time when Yemeni citizens suffer a lot of suffering due to the unjust war imposed on the homeland and its people, especially the woman who lost her husband and child who was subjected to the worst forms of violence and inhuman practices outside the Islamic religion and laws and international laws.
During her speech, she also presented a message to give wider attention to women and activate their roles and participation in order to combat gender-based violence and to create a true partnership between men and women in all aspects of life and interest in women for a society free from violence.
The ceremony included a one-minute pause for peace and the distribution of orange-colored slogans
