Yemen Women Union contributes to eradicating scabies for 210 families in the IDP camps in Ibb

Tuesday, 01 December, 2020
During the first half of the past November, Yemen Women Union has led an emergency response initiative to eradicate scabies in some IDP camps in Ibb governorate. #YWU mobilized the efforts of humanitarian partners to combat the scabies outbreak through effective coordination with #UNHCR, Camps Management Sub-Cluster #CCCM, and other relevant partners.
The response targeted 210 displaced families and the host community residing in the 22 May Site in Al Dhehar district of Ibb governorate, through the distribution of medical materials and alternative clothing, as well as the distribution of mattresses and blankets. This intervention comes as result of the proactive referral and prior coordination exerted by YWU as an emergency response to eradicate scabies disease, which has recently spread in some of the displaced sites in Ibb. It is worth noting that this activity comes within the project " improving camp coordination and management in 5 sites for the displaced in Al-Dhahar district in Ibb governorate and Samae and Mawiyah districts in Taiz governorate" funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund. #YHF
