Ramzia Abas Al-Ariani
Novelist, writer, diplomat, and leading jurist
She was born in the village of Irian in Ibb province. She went to high school in Taiz then studied philosophy at Cairo University and got her bachelor's degree in 1977. She also has a master's degree in Arabic literature. In 1979 she became the first diplomatic woman to join the Yemeni diplomatic corps. She held the position of President of the Yemeni Women's Union and member of the Board of Directors of the Arab Family Organization.
